FBCโ€™s first-year National Service Training Program (NSTP) Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) students, together with the Kabankalan Catholic College (KCC) NSTP CWTS and ROTC students, engaged in a symposium on National Security Awareness yesterday morning at the St. Columban Arts Center, KCC, on November 8.

The symposium was conducted to broaden students' understanding of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG), insurgency challenges, and the importance of promoting national security and peacebuilding.
โ€œSupport the Philippines to be free from terrorism and away from terrorists,โ€ said one of the lecturers.

Meanwhile, the lecturers present were Mr. Victor K. Wanchakan, the Acting Regional Director; Ms. Rosanna Laurilla; Ms. Carla Amonte; Ms. Ma. Magdalena Gante, CAA; and PLT Noli N. Gudaca.
The speakers tackled topics such as corruption, poverty, the reasons the NPA recruits new members, terrorism, the issue of sovereigntyโ€”particularly concerning the West Philippine Sea (WPS)โ€”and the importance of education.

Moreover, the symposium urged everyone to stay vigilant of their surroundings at all times.
The lecture ended with a reference to a famous quote from Nelson Mandela: โ€œEducation is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,โ€ reminding students of the importance of education in achieving their dreams and securing their future.
